Edward joined John Hilton in 1972, after serving four years of a five year apprenticeship as an engraver. “I naively went to a careers officer and said I wanted to be a commercial artist. I was 15 and didn’t know anything so I signed up for this apprenticeship thinking it would lead to a creative career. It was piecework, sat at a machine and could not have been less creative.

“Eventually I started to look for a house to buy and I went into John Hilton’s, which at the time was run by John Griston.

After passing his A-levels at BHASVIC, Marius joined John Hiltons in 1996 as a trainee and has stayed loyal to the company ever since. He has learnt all aspects of the business from Edward and has introduced new ideas and concepts to the business.

Born and bred in Brighton, Marius has extensive local knowledge and has gained vast experience over the years, he is friendly, approachable and always happy to help. He believes that you should treat people how you would like to be treated yourself.

Marius is also a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor and is able to carry out Energy Performance Certificates.

Jo-Ann Stafford - Lettings Manager

After studying at university and travelling Jo found her niche in lettings. She built up from scratch another local agents' business, and after parting company relished a new challenge with John Hiltons. She is also studying part time to become a surveyor, and is highly organised, fair, hardworking and committed to giving clients a good service with a personal touch.

Tashi Warr - Admin Assistant

Joined us recently and comes from a sound academic background. After passing her A-levels Tashi came to Brighton to study architecture. She is a very efficient typist and has very good people skills to deal with your enquiries.
